Craft Hope: Aprons for Haiti

Have you all heard of Craft Hope? I was recently introduced to it via Ashley's blog. Pretty much instantly, I knew that I wanted to help with their most recent project making aprons for women in Haiti. You can find out more about the project and Craft hope right here. It is basically a group that enlists the crafty masses to make handmade goods for great causes. They just extended the deadline until the end of June and I couldn't be happier! As soon as I heard, I derailed all quilting efforts and tore into my fabric stash to start making aprons.

The basic guidelines for the aprons are this:
Preferably sturdy quilting cottons only
One or two pockets if possible
Keep the style pretty but practical
Nothing too frilly or ruffly
All sizes from girls to womens
Full or half aprons are fine
All aprons must be at this address by June 30th
Haiti By Hand
3333 Benton Road
Cedar Hill, TN 37032

You are also welcome to pin a little note to your aprons for the woman who receives it.

I feel so honored to be able to contribute in some small way to this great project and I really look forward to participating in the next project in July. I hope you'll consider pitching in if you can. And for those of you who aren't sewists, click here to go to the Haiti by Hand website and check out the sidebar for other needs they have like craft books, bandanas, vitamins and much more!
