This week...
I was gifted with a pallet that was delivered to my boss with a bunch of Ikea stuff for their new house several months ago. I kindly asked if he would have any use for it after the other stuff was gone and he said he would be happy to let me have it. I couldn't get a good look at it until today but it's in great shape and the perfect size! I need to get to Pinterest for ideas on how to transform it into the table of my dreams. And then off to Ikea to add some legs.
Speaking of Ikea, I finally (as in, 3 months later) hauled this Ikea side table out of the back of my car and put it together. And I'm so happy with the red! When I downgraded my coffee table to the much smaller mint green trunk, I lost a lot of surface space. But now I have a nice spot right by the couch to leave my computer and a stack of my favorite magazines for inspiration.
This picture was taken on Wednesday, shortly before The Great Migraine of 2012 set into my brain. The boys and I found the coolest park (Central Park in Stapleton) and we had a blast climbing the rock structures, standing in the mister to cool off and meeting new friends.
A much anticipated package arrived in the mail this week too. Some berry baskets for a DIY coming soon, pretty straws for sipping lemonade out on my deck and an adorable headband from Oh Sweet Joy. Kim's shop is closing soon but it's not too late to grab your own cute headband in a variety of fabric by clicking her link. (Mine is the "stitches" fabric.)
I splurged on this fabric because I'm weak and I just couldn't resist. The good news is I know just what I'm going to do with it (Thanks, Elsa!) And I got the last batch over at Drygoods Design Online! However, feel free to track in down elsewhere. It's Melody Miller fabric and the line is called Ruby Star Shining. There is another color scheme as well! And here is what I'm going to make with it.
Other happenings this week: lots and lots of bowling, camping in the backyard, getting my apartment ready for my feline roommate, boring paperwork, fun lunches at kitschy cafes and travel planning. In the next 6 months or so I am going to St. Louis, Las Vegas, Boston, Salt Lake City and Dallas. I love traveling!!

I regret not grabbing the pallet I saw out front of a neighbor's house. Darn!
ReplyDeleteLove everything here! Yay!
that's my favorite fabric because it looks like my tattoo! I ordered some on etsy and love it so much :) I love the bag you are going to make! I haven't decided yet what to make with mine; so far it's just my facebook header and my desktop wallpaper haha
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is really amazing! I am such a huge fan of anything to do with old typewriters!
