DIY: Cinnamon All-Purpose Cleaner

This weekend I have made it my mission to clean and organize my whole apartment. It's become quite a mess lately and I need to get it under control before Hoarders comes knocking. With autumn weather just around the corner, I love the smell of warm cinnamon and crisp air coming through the windows. After spending all morning researching recipes for household cleaners, I came up with my own little recipe! And now I want to share it with all of you.
What You'll Need:
Spray bottle
2 cups of water
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
1-2 teaspoons pure liquid castille soap
10-15 drops of tea tree oil
20 drops of cinnamon essential oil
I saved a considerable amount of money by buying a spray bottle at the dollar store and buying a bottle of castille liquid soap that already had tea tree oil in it. And I can use the hand soap in my bathroom! Vinegar and hydrogen peroxide can both be purchased for a whopping $3 at Target and a little goes a very long way. The priciest thing on the list was the essential oil but depending on what scent you buy it is usually between $5-$12 and will probably be enough for a dozen gallons of cleaning spray. All in all, there is no doubt that this is a cheap and eco-friendly alternative to common household products. And it would make an amazing gift, too!
Add a cute label and you're ready to get cleaning and ring in the fall with the warm smell of cinnamon! Thanks so much for reading and as always, feel free to pin away.

  1. This is great. I'd really like to start using more natural cleaners, but it can be difficult to find the ingredients here. I finally found a place to buy liquid castille soap today, so I'll try your recipe someday soon.

  5. Love this! I'm gonna try it for sure. I'm sick of the chemical smell of Lysol.

  6. Oooo! I like the idea of switching it up with cinnamon as I usually go with the average kitchen scents of lemon and orange, but cinnamon sounds particularly delicious, especially when cleaning off the old kitchen counter. Tea tree and cinnamon essential oils are amazing as it as they have natural antibacterial and germ fighting powers. Great tutorial lady!
