4 Simple Goals:

Today I'm linking up with the lovely Elsie over at A Beautiful Mess for a fun little goals challenge. I like goals when they're practical and fun so here we gooo...
Click on over to ABM for all the details on how you can play along too.
1. It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day insanity of life but living with pretty overwhelming anxiety can be unbearable if I don't slow down every once awhile and just be silent. Sometimes that's at night on the couch by candlelight or sometimes that's in the early morning with a cup of tea before I head off to work. The reward is just being a much happier, more peaceful version of myself.
2. I love to create things by hand. In all these months and years since I stopped selling handmade there is a part of me that aches for that practice of always making something. One of the places I am most happy is in front of my sewing machine and I want to make more time for that.
3. I've been on a road to healthier living and weight loss for a few weeks now and I want to take a more active role. The cool autumn nights are creeping in and nothing is more relaxing than bundling up in my favorite scarf and walking the quiet streets as the sun sets and the moon takes its place in the sky.
4. I am so impacted by my environment and find that I can be pretty sensitive to a space that's cluttered or any negative energy that might be lingering about. I want to make it a priority to keep my home and work spaces clean and inspiring places to be. No more saving that "project" for a rainy day. I can create my own creative utopia today.

The Rewards:
I think that for every month of the four left in 2012 I will reward myself with a $50 allowance to spend on swanky candles at Anthropologie, a mini-thrifting spree or some other special something that I've been daydreaming about. Who knows, maybe if I pass this test with flying colors I'll go ahead and get that new sofa I've been dreaming of once the new year rolls around. : )

  1. This is very cool, and I was thinking to myself that I wanted to come up with some "new year's resolution" type goals, but before the new year... this might be a great way to do that! Thanks for the share -- I missed this on ABM. :)
