I'm a beginner in quilting too. I'm waiting for a jelly roll of Little Apples I bought online to arrive, so I can try the "Jelly Roll Race Quilt" which seems very easy to make (if you're interested I found a tutorial for this quilt here: http://craftygardenmom.blogspot.com/2011/12/jelly-roll-race-quilt-tutorial.html).

Oh I've been admiring this book for a long time (as well as Elizabeth Hartman)! In fact I'm trying to do the Quilt-Along that Elizabeth is doing on her blog right now, Sparkle Punch. I'm still a newbie too, I've completed 2 simple quilts so far, it's really fun & inspiring once you get going.
